Bonnie Meltzer
Artwork and Writing
Portfolio

Bonnie Meltzer makes mixed-media constructions from a variety of unusual materials: crocheted wire, recycled computer parts, painted surfaces and digital photography. The juxtaposition of all these materials and techiques makes for fascinating subject matter and rich surfaces. She uses a Macintosh computer both as a design tool and to make photographic elements of her constructions. Computer parts make up a line of one-of-kind computer jewelry. See her fun, gorgeous and unique computer jewelry on the jewelry page.

Although many of the pieces on this site are happily hung on walls or on necks throughout the country, some of the works are available for sale. Commissions are gladly accepted. To better understand the design process of a commission see the Portrait of a Commission page on this site. It is the actual proposal that was submitted to a client.

Very partisan social & political commentary

.

Long before Meltzer was a Macintosh user she would buy surplus computer parts because of their beauty. This series uses those found objects but also uses computers as subject matter.

Amphora Series

Ideas in form and content from Greek Vases. Some of these are crocheted wire while others are cut out circuit boards combined with digital photographs that portray life as it is now rather than as it was in ancient Greece.
