The house with scarlet runner beans, edible air conditioning; purple orach , nasty tasting spinach like plant that is gorgeous at every stage; and out in the parking strip Russian sage which never needs watering.





I have two different colors of sweet potato, both purplish. the stones are to keep them warm at night. Of course, purple cabbage but next to it shiso, an Asian herb which is rather tasty but I grow it for its looks.

I also have purple beans, purple basil and in some years purple potatoes.



The garden is right out the studio doors. The big table is my summer studio and even in the winter I do messy chores out on it instead of inside. I bundle up, put on my mask and gloves and use my power tools. Here I am sanding with an adapter to my drill.
