See Recycled Computer Part Pins

I wore my first and only computer part jewelry to a lecture I was giving about technology and art history. During the question and answer period one of the teachers waved her hand wildly. The inquiry wasn't about the use of computers in the classroom, or about the role of technology in cave paintings but..

"I have to have that necklace. How do I get it"?

I have been making and selling computer jewelry off my neck ever since.

Magnet wire, a thin very pliable wire normally used in motor windings, is crocheted into these lacy collars. The wire comes in a variety of enameled colors over a copper core. Some of the wire has other coatings.

Crocheted magnet and plastic coated wire with hard drive motor and beads. $175
The motor is from very old hard drives. New ones are not this interesting, actually they aren't interesting for jewelry at all. However, they are light weight which makes it easier to shlep your portable computer around.
