Bonnie Meltzer

Very Mixed Media Sculpture
with Found Objects

Hello
Four views of one sculpture

phone parts and cords, coppeer, collaged phone books, crocheted wire and painted wood,
62" x 14" x 14"

This series contains works that are truly three dimensional, rather than much of Meltzer's work which is more bas relief or what she calls 2.5 dimensional. All are made with objects that don't have a useful life anymore: obsolete computer parts, very out of date phones, discarded books, unwanted globes and dilapidated musical instruments.

"Hello" was commissioned for the lobby of Pavelcomm, a phone and networking company. It was part of a special project with Cracked Pots and Northwest Business for Culture and the Arts in which artists were permitted to take materials out of the waste stream of Portland Corporations to make artworks.
